Senior Food Scientist/Product Developer - Full Time

Dora's Naturals is seeking a Senior Food Scientist and Product Developer to spearhead innovation and elevate productivity for Zen refrigerated snacks. This full-time, in-person role in South Hackensack, NJ brings together cross-functional collaboration with production, marketing, and QA teams to move concepts from benchtop to commercialization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate new food products from bench-scale prototypes through pilot and full-scale production, ensuring nutritional targets and cost objectives are met.
• Source new ingredient suppliers as needed while maintaining existing supplier partnerships.
• Oversee tastings and produce sensory reports informed by team feedback.
• Plan, lead, and execute plant trials.
• Create documentation such as operational formulas, processes, finished product specifications, and laboratory procedures.
• Conduct sensory analyses and analytical measurements to validate product attributes over shelf life.
• Monitor trends in the better-for-you snack space to inform development decisions.

Requirements

• BS in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline; MS is a plus.
• Foundational experience with sensory techniques, including quantitative descriptive analysis.
• At least 3 years of experience in product development.
• Proficiency in lab testing and analytical techniques.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and remain agile in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
