Senior Embedded Software Engineer

General Dynamics Mission Systems, Inc is hiring a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to build security software for secure voice products as part of a cross-functional team. This fully on-site role in Scottsdale, AZ supports research-oriented work that helps deliver practical solutions for national security, alongside teams focused on continuous learning.

What you’ll do

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for Secure Voice Products, you’ll help design, develop, and test security-focused software for cutting-edge secure voice systems. You’ll work closely with a cross functional team to deliver production-quality embedded capabilities, bringing engineering rigor from software design through verification.

• Contribute to software design, development, and test for secure voice products
• Collaborate with team members to build security software in a cross-functional environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus minimum 8 years of relevant experience
• Or, Master’s degree plus 6 years of relevant experience
• Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire
• Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
• U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed within company facilities

Skills and experience that matter

• C/C++ and embedded development
• Development on a Linux environment
• Shared repository team development, preferably Git
• Rust experience
• Low-level development experience including devices drivers and boot
• SELinux experience, including policies
• CI pipelines and CI testing
• Scripting experience with Python and Perl
• Static analysis
• Ability to follow the software development process
• Ability to apply technical standards and methodologies in creative ways to solve challenges
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
• Agile development

Compensation and workplace

• Salary range: USD 142,696 to 158,303 per year
• Workplace option: Fully on-site in Scottsdale, AZ
