Senior Data Engineer

Apexon seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and manage comprehensive data systems, with a focus on Snowflake-based pipelines, while ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability in partnership with the engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Lead data management initiatives, developing, organizing, storing, and analyzing data assets and data systems.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle for Snowflake solutions, including planning, requirements gathering, development, testing, and quality assurance.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and implement optimal data solutions.
• Ensure platform performance, uptime, and scalability, upholding high standards for code quality and thoughtful design.
• Troubleshoot incidents, determine root causes, implement fixes, document issues, and apply preventive measures.
• Capable of managing deliverables in fast-paced environments.

Requirements

• At least 8-10 years of experience designing and developing data solutions in an enterprise environment.
• At least 5+ years of experience on the Snowflake platform.
• Strong hands-on SQL and Python development.
• Experience with designing and developing data warehouses in Snowflake.
• Minimum of three years experience developing production-ready data ingestion and processing pipelines using Spark and Scala.
• Hands-on experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Informatica, or Automic.
• Solid understanding of metadata and data lineage.
• Hands-on knowledge of SQL analytical functions.
• Proficient in Shell scripting and Java Scripting.
• Experience with software engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and performance engineering.
• Familiarity with Git, Confluence, and Jira.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
