RPG/iSeries Developer 2

Knight Transportation is seeking an on-site RPG/iSeries Developer 2 in Phoenix, AZ, with a salary range of USD 81,000 to 117,400 per year.

Responsibilities

• Design and build applications to address end-user business needs with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate on agile teams as required.
• Contribute to design, coding, testing, development, and documentation for complex programs.
• Assess Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs) and identify follow-up questions to clarify expectations and estimate effort.
• Liaise with business leaders to deepen understanding of requests.
• Support integration, training, and implementation efforts.
• Assist in drafting technical specifications, development approaches, and time estimates for standard projects or packaged software deployments.
• Provide accurate status updates to IT and business stakeholders.
• Propose practical solutions to address project delays.
• Continuously refine technical and business skills through assignments, training, and industry conferences.
• Proactively assist colleagues in achieving organizational goals.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of programming experience.
• RPG experience required.
• SQL experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize and plan work effectively.
• Strong multitasking capability.
• Ability to collaborate with others.
