Job Description

SRI is hiring a Python developer (W2) for a Bank of America client, focused on hands-on backend development. The role is onsite in Jersey City, NJ and centers on building reliable, scalable components that integrate into the team’s larger platform.

In this position, you will design horizontally scalable services, write reusable backend code, and support microservices with testing and CI/CD automation. Collaboration is a core part of the work through code reviews and performance-focused guidance for the team.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design and build horizontally scalable components within the major platform the team is developing
  • Review code and provide feedback on best practices, with an emphasis on performance and stability optimizations
  • Develop subject matter expertise on code deployed on the platform and support other developers
  • Write reusable and extendable code and contribute to the core platform
  • Work continuously to make the software simpler
  • Collaborate with peers to drive ongoing improvement

Requirements

  • Expertise in functional and object-oriented programming, specifically Python
  • Experience with databases including relational and document approaches, with NoSQL experience
  • Strong foundation in Algorithms and Data Structures
  • Experience building distributed and scalable complex services and robust microservices
  • Experience writing unit tests using pytest or unittest
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Math
  • 7 to 15 years of hands-on backend development experience
