Python and PySpark Developer - Assistant Vice President

Responsibilities

• Perform feasibility analyses, time and cost estimation, IT planning, risk assessment, applications and model development, and design and deploy new or updated software systems to meet business needs or user groups
• Oversee and coordinate all stages of the software lifecycle from analysis through design, development, testing, and deployment, while delivering user and operational support to business users
• Apply deep expertise in applications development to analyze complex problems, evaluate business and system processes, benchmark against industry standards, and provide informed recommendations
• Propose and implement security controls based on post implementation review of how the system is used to ensure robust design and functionality
• Collaborate with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, suggest advanced programming approaches, and install and support customer exposure systems
• Ensure key procedures are followed and contribute to defining operating standards and processes
• Mentor new and junior analysts as an advisor or coach
• Capable of working with minimal direct supervision
• Demonstrate independent judgment and autonomy in decision making
• Serve as a subject matter expert to senior stakeholders and fellow team members

Requirements

• Minimum five years of Python development experience with data applications implementation
• At least one year of PySpark development experience
• Between six months and one year of experience with Big Data technologies
• Proven track record in managing and delivering successful projects
• Familiarity with consulting and project management methodologies and techniques
• Ability to work under pressure and manage changing deadlines or requirements
