Product Developer
Job Description
Product Developer role based onsite in Chanhassen, MN with The Bernard Group.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and test prototypes aligned with customer requirements or vision.
- Apply knowledge of raw materials and manufacturing processes for display components, including injection molding, vacuum formed and extruded plastics, wood cabinetry and framing, and metal wire components.
- Safely operate small equipment such as saws, drills, heat benders, and similar tools to support prototyping.
- Document prototype information accurately to support production replication in SolidWorks (preferred).
- Participate in preventive maintenance for department equipment to keep it in good operating condition.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Complete miscellaneous projects and tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CAD, Drafting or a related discipline.
- Two or more years of experience designing and building models, displays, or prototypes in multiple disciplines.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency with PC skills using MS Windows.
- Experience with computer aided design and drafting tools (CAD) preferred.
- Experience working with wood, laminates, veneers, solid plastics, adhesives, and various fasteners.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering, production, and shop drawings.

Compensation
- USD 64,000 – 77,000 per year
