Job Description
Northrop Grumman is looking for a Principal/Sr. Principal Full-Stack Web Developer to support the DAF CLOUDworks mission at the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL). This onsite role in Rome, NY focuses on maintaining and improving cloud application capabilities used in a secure environment, while assisting customers who rely on DAF CLOUDworks.
Role summary
In this position, you will help build mission-ready cloud applications for the Air Force and enhance the platform’s capabilities to meet evolving requirements. Work includes Agile full life-cycle development, technical support for customers, and collaboration with multiple teams to ensure project status and blockers are communicated clearly.
Responsibilities
- Build mission-ready cloud applications for the Air Force.
- Maintain and enhance capabilities supporting DAF CLOUDworks at AFRL.
- Provide technical support to customers using DAF CLOUDworks and modify or improve offerings to implement new requirements, increase functionality, improve efficiency, and reduce operating or deployment overhead.
- Follow Agile development processes across the full development life cycle.
- Interface with multiple, geographically dispersed teams and communicate project status and blockers effectively.
- Support 24x7 on-call when required.

- Experience developing full-stack web applications using TypeScript, React, Node.js, CSS, Lambda, APIs, NoSQL databases, and Python.
- Experience with UI styling.
- Understanding of version control systems, including Git.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure.
- Experience developing applications using Agile principles, processes, and tools.
- Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.
- Demonstrated experience in cloud adoption, environment prototyping, and data migration.

Compensation and location

- Salary (yearly): USD 98,400 - 193,900
- Primary level salary range: $98,400.00 - $155,400.00
- Secondary level salary range: $122,800.00 - $193,900.00
- Travel: Yes, 10% of the Time

Preferred qualifications
- Active Top Secret clearance with TS/SCI
- CompTIA Security+ certification or IAT Level II equivalent per DoD 8570.01
- Prior development experience with the Department of Defense (DoD)
- Strong understanding of web security, including WAF, SQL injection and XSS prevention, and authentication/authorization through Zero Trust workflows (IAM, RBAC)
- Experience with GitLab runners and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with document databases such as DynamoDB
- Exposure to frameworks such as React, Angular, Java, JavaScript
- Experience with SonarQube or other static code analysis frameworks
