Principal Machine Learning Engineer

Overview Microsoft Health Futures offers a hands-on role with meaningful impact on accelerating the training of generative models and advancing ML pipelines. You will work closely with ML researchers, software engineers, and domain experts to improve training, evaluation, and high-performance inference for health and life sciences applications.

Location: Redmond, WA (onsite) • Salary: USD 142,800 - 304,200 per year • Experience: 6+ years • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Drive the design and deployment of machine learning models and platforms for health and life sciences, ensuring scalability and dependable performance.
• Shape the technical roadmap and architecture for end-to-end ML pipelines, covering data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Collaborate with scientists, researchers, and software engineers to conceptualize and build AI-enhanced scientific systems.
• Mentor engineers and researchers, promoting best practices in ML development, experimentation, and responsible AI principles.
• Ensure security, privacy, and regulatory compliance across ML workflows and data handling.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
