Power Bi Developer

Matlen Silver is seeking a fully remote Power BI Developer for a contract engagement lasting 06 months with a possible extension and/or conversion. The role will focus on redesigning and developing high-performance Power BI dashboards that translate complex data into clear business insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Redesign existing Power BI dashboards to be modern, professional, intuitive, and visually compelling as business needs and data volume grow.
• Create dashboards aligned with the “5-Second Rule,” enabling stakeholders to quickly understand the key insights.
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable business intelligence.
• Design and develop Power BI dashboards and solutions with a focus on performance.
• Work with established semantic models, including maintaining and leveraging them as part of ongoing dashboard development.
• Partner with business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and support self-service reporting.
• Follow existing standards for color palette, fonts, and Power BI Best Practices.

Project Context

The organization currently has approximately 40 production Power BI dashboards. The initial redesign effort prioritizes the 10 most-used dashboards, with ongoing work expected to continue as additional business and data demands evolve.

Team and Workflow

• The team includes two other Power BI Analysts: one Senior and one Associate.
• All work is QA/QC’d by the Senior Analyst prior to deployment.
• ADO is used to manage Agile work assignments and workflow.
• Semantic models are already built; the resource will primarily need to understand and work within the existing models.

Required Qualifications

• A strong eye for design, data visualization, and data storytelling.
• Focus on improving overall visualization quality and creating a true “wow factor.”
• Ability to work with and maintain existing semantic models.
• Experience partnering with business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and enable self-service reporting.
• Commitment to established Power BI standards, including color palette, fonts, and Power BI Best Practices.
