Job Description
Calance US is seeking a Senior Power BI Developer in Charlotte, North Carolina (onsite), offering $50 - $65 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Architect and deliver high performance Power BI dashboards that provide executive level visibility with intuitive, granular drill-downs for operational analysis and governance alignment.
- Build and maintain robust semantic models and advanced DAX calculations to ensure a Single Source of Truth across all reporting layers.
- Design and optimize SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to support reliable analytics and data integrity across relational and large-scale data sources.
- Collaborate with business leaders to gather requirements and translate abstract questions into trustworthy analytical solutions that drive decisions.
- Tune data models for usability and speed to sustain peak performance with large enterprise datasets.
- Uphold data accuracy and governance across all reporting solutions, diagnosing and addressing performance bottlenecks as they arise.
- Promote self-service BI practices while preserving architectural governance, empowering stakeholders to explore data responsibly.
Requirements
- Minimum six years in business intelligence, including at least four years focused on the Power BI ecosystem in an enterprise environment.
- Advanced Power BI proficiency with expert-level DAX, Power Query (M), and experience modeling complex star schemas.
- Strong SQL skills with a proven track record of writing and tuning complex queries across relational and large-scale data sources.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (Medallion architecture, Kimball and Inmon) and modern BI best practices.
- Proven analytical abilities with the capacity to troubleshoot data discrepancies and achieve high-accuracy parity targets (99.8%+).
- Excellent ability to bridge technical architecture with non-technical stakeholders and lead architectural and solution design discussions.
- Preferred: Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300).
