Job Description

Air Line Pilots Association, Int'l is seeking a Mobile/Web Developer (.Net) in McLean, VA (hybrid) to gather user requirements, design systems, and develop and test mobile and web applications and integrations in alignment with corporate architecture standards.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit and document user requirements.
  • Perform systems design and analysis to guide development.
  • Build and validate mobile and web applications, plus related application and database integrations that may be complex.
  • Contribute to project life cycle planning to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and strategy.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, data analysts, and other technology specialists on project implementation and strategy.
  • Research and propose design and technology infrastructure alternatives.
  • Assist in designing new alternatives where appropriate.
  • Provide input to management on technology direction and technical challenges.
  • Ensure consistent application of technical architecture standards and aid in resolving complex problems.
  • Work with business knowledge experts, leadership, and data analysts to shape ALPA's data store vision and translate reporting requirements from logical design to physical databases.
  • Adhere to departmental MEC and Association policies and procedures, collaborating across departments and advising management on changes to standards and policies.
  • Deliver solutions that reflect an understanding of client needs and align with MEC and Association strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (for example, Computer Science, IT, Web Applications) from an accredited college or university; master's degree or postgraduate coursework preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • Five years of related experience required; additional directly applicable experience may substitute for the academic requirement as determined by management.
  • Expertise with .NET MAUI.
  • Blazor, Sitecore, DNN, Coveo, Visual Studio.Net, ASP.Net, C#, Java, SQL Server.
  • Strong skills in systems analysis, design, and requirements gathering.
  • Solid knowledge of the Microsoft .Net Framework.
  • Proficiency in web markup and client-side scripting including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Experience with CMS, advanced JavaScript libraries, preprocessing platforms, version control, cross-browser development, and RESTful Services and APIs is a plus.
  • Experience with automation and web performance tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of image editing tools for basic adjustments.
  • Understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills for effective collaboration at all levels.
  • Self-starter with professional maturity, sound judgment, and the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to document internal processes and guidelines.
  • Experience in end-user security administration is helpful.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
