Mid-Level Software Engineer

This mid-level software engineer role supports a large Naval Sea Systems Command contract at Decision Technologies. The position is based at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC, onsite with possible telework contingent on customer approval. Candidates must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assess user needs and design software solutions using core computer science, engineering practices, and mathematical analysis.
• Update and enhance existing software capabilities to improve performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with project management, acquisition, logistics, security, and other disciplines to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and establish performance requirements.
• Maintain databases within the relevant application domain.

Requirements

• Eligibility to obtain a Secret clearance is required.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems.
• At least three years of software engineering experience.

Travel Requirements

• Travel is infrequent but may include occasional assignments to support government efforts at East and West Coast naval hubs such as Norfolk, VA and San Diego, CA.

Compensation at Decision Technologies, Inc. is determined by a range of factors, including location, the individual’s education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

Experience

• Experience working on DoD or Navy related programs or contracts: 3 years (Required)
• Surface Radars: 3 years (Required)
• System integration efforts: 3 years (Required)
• Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys, or Laser systems: 3 years (Required)

Security Clearance

Secret clearance is required.
