Mid-Level Software Developer

IQ Ventures invites applications for a Mid-Level Software Developer to design, build, test, and maintain scalable software applications and services with a focus on cloud infrastructure and data-driven platforms. The role involves collaborating across engineering, analytics, operations, and business stakeholders to deliver data-centric solutions across the software stack.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable software applications and services, with ongoing testing and maintenance to ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, operations, and business stakeholders across internal and external teams.
• Create and sustain integrations with both internal and external data sources.
• Write and optimize SQL queries and work with relational databases and data warehouses.
• Develop backend systems and APIs using Python.
• Contribute to client-facing platforms such as underwriting systems, decision engines, and model execution platforms.
• Work with cloud infrastructure and services, primarily within Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release processes.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to improvements in system reliability and performance.
• Engage in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience with strong Python proficiency and object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience working with cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience using Git-based version control workflows.
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests and familiarity with CI/CD concepts and workflows.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, testing, and debugging skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
