Job Description

PwC seeks a Managed Services Data Engineer at the Experienced Associate level to join its Buffalo, New York on-site team. The role centers on building data-driven solutions, constructing data pipelines, and applying analytics to deliver strategic insights for clients within the Data & Analytics practice, with a focus on learning and active client engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy data-driven solutions to optimize performance and strengthen competitive position, encompassing data engineering and ETL work.
  • Utilize advanced analytics to generate strategic insights and support client decision-making, including SQL optimization.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines to enable efficient data collection and analysis, using DataStage.
  • Create reports and dashboards with Oracle Business Intelligence and QlikView, drawing from data sources such as DB2 and SQL Server.
  • Collaborate with teammates to gather and analyze data from multiple sources to identify patterns and trends, employing star schemas and dimensional modeling.
  • Apply data architecture development skills to design and maintain robust database management systems, including snowflake model approaches.
  • Engage in continuous process improvement to enhance data quality and integrity.
  • Support client engagements by actively listening to diverse perspectives and needs within regulated environments.
  • Contribute to the development of business cases and market development strategies through data analysis and interpretation.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced environment and take ownership of tasks to consistently deliver high-quality work, including job scheduling and UNIX-based work.

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience.

Salary and Benefits

The stated salary range is USD 63,000 to 140,000 per year. Actual compensation depends on skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws. All hires are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

What Sets You Apart

  • Preferred field of study includes Computer and Information Science, Computer and Information Science & Accounting, Economics, Economics and Finance, Economics and Finance & Technology, Operations Management/Research, Statistics, or Engineering.
  • Proficiency in Python and Java programming languages.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as QlikView and Spotfire.
  • Experience developing business intelligence solutions using Oracle BI.
  • Background in data architecture development and management.
  • Ability to apply macroeconomic and microeconomic analysis skills.
  • Strong skills in data analysis and interpretation.
