Machine Learning Engineer (Clearance Sponsorship)

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain machine learning pipelines and applications using Python and current ML frameworks
• Create and optimize algorithms for integrating and deploying large language models
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices to host ML models in production environments
• Deliver clean, maintainable, and well documented code following object oriented programming principles
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to capture requirements and translate them into technical designs
• Manage training data, model artifacts, and application state with SQL, NoSQL, and vector databases
• Containerize ML applications with Docker to ensure consistent deployments across environments
• Use Git for version control and participate in code reviews to uphold code quality
• Test and debug ML applications to ensure reliability and accuracy
• Support the deployment and monitoring of AI/ML models in cloud environments
• Stay current with advances in machine learning, LLMs, and AI engineering best practices

Requirements

• Ability to obtain Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or a related technical field with at least five years of professional experience in software development or machine learning engineering
• Strong proficiency in Python with a solid grasp of object oriented programming concepts, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
• Experience with development tools and practices including Git, Docker, and database management (SQL and/or NoSQL)
• Familiarity with LLM technologies, including exposure to large language models and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph
• Understanding of retrieval augmented generation architectures and vector databases like ChromaDB, Pinecone, Weaviate, or similar
• Strong problem solving, meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication, and a collaborative mindset

Compensation

Salary range for this position is $113,200 to $237,800 per year. This role is based onsite in Chantilly, VA.
