Machine Learning Engineer

The Machine Learning Engineer will lead end-to-end development and deployment of endoscopic image analysis systems, with ownership across the full machine learning lifecycle from data strategy through production release. This role focuses on computer vision for gastric imagery, image enhancement under in vivo constraints, and perception capabilities that support navigation and localization.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end ML pipeline including data curation, model development, evaluation, deployment, and ongoing monitoring
• Design, train, and validate computer vision models using frameworks such as PyTorch
• Develop image enhancement pipelines
• Optimize model performance across accuracy, latency, and compute constraints
• Implement neural compression techniques
• Build and maintain dataset infrastructure to support training and evaluation
• Deploy models into production environments using CI/CD and monitoring
• Contribute to localization and pose estimation
• Support perception systems for navigation and scene understanding
• Collaborate with simulation and visualization teams
• Mentor interns and junior engineers
• Communicate technical progress and results clearly

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of machine learning engineering experience (or equivalent)
• Experience deploying production computer vision models
• Strong foundation in deep learning
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch
• Experience with MLOps tools
• Strong software engineering fundamentals
• Strong communication skills
• Experience with image enhancement, compression, or perception systems

Location and Work Arrangement

On-site in Hayward, CA, with limited hybrid flexibility.

Compensation

$130,000 to $180,000 base salary per year, plus equity and benefits.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
