Job Description

Moody’s is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to help advance practical, scalable machine learning and computer vision capabilities that translate into client value. The role sits within the Machine Learning Technology team, working on core technology behind property intelligence solutions that use learning systems and geospatial signals to generate actionable insights.

Based in Golden, CO (onsite), this position supports end-to-end model development, deployment, and governance, combining technical execution with clear communication across engineering, product, and business partners. Salary range: USD 95,500 - 138,550 per year.

What you’ll do

  • Develop practical, scalable, and robust machine learning and computer vision solutions to enhance product capabilities.
  • Collect, clean, preprocess, and analyze data to support model development and maximize data value.
  • Create visualizations and run exploratory analysis to surface patterns, trends, opportunities, and data quality issues.
  • Train, evaluate, refine, and deploy machine learning models aligned with business objectives and product requirements.
  • Design, implement, and automate large-scale pipelines for model training, integration, and evaluation.
  • Partner with machine learning, software engineering, product development, sales, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences through documentation and presentations.
  • Design and execute experiments to validate assumptions, improve model performance, and support data-driven decisions.
  • Ensure projects follow governance, security, ethical AI, and responsible data use practices while identifying and resolving operational inefficiencies.

Required education and experience

  • Advanced degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field required.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on industry experience in machine learning, computer vision, data science, or a related field.

Required skills

  • Strong Python programming skills, including machine learning libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and PyTorch.
  • Expertise using supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms, including advanced concepts such as active learning, computer vision, and deployments in complex environments.
  • Deep expertise in artificial intelligence, including implementing advanced AI solutions to support strategic transformation and operational efficiency.
  • Strong experience using AI tools to lead innovation initiatives, with demonstrated leadership in managing AI-related risks and ensuring ethical governance and responsible AI adoption.
  • Experience communicating business requirements and objectives clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience building data tools for extract, transform, and load (ETL) workflows, including extracting data from SQL and NoSQL databases and performing advanced data analysis.

Tools and platforms

  • ML/MLOps tooling: continuous integration and continuous deployment practices, model monitoring, and model maintenance (preferred).
  • Modern platforms: Jupyter, Docker, Git, and cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Data: SQL, NoSQL.
