Lead Infrastructure Software Engineer- Low Latency Trading
Job Description
JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Software Engineer to join its Low Latency Trading group in Jersey City, onsite. This role centers on designing compute infrastructure and delivering production-grade software for a fast-moving, low-latency electronic trading environment, while leading architecture, automation, and operational stability initiatives. The compensation range for this position is USD 152,000 to 215,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement innovative software solutions, overseeing design, development, and troubleshooting with the ability to tackle complex technical problems beyond routine approaches.
- Collaborate directly with Lines of Business to understand compute-space needs and address challenges within a low-latency electronic trading setting.
- Direct strategies for server hardware platforms, server/OS tuning and automation, and the lifecycle of infrastructure applications.
- Act as the Design Authority for the compute infrastructure application stack, including build/configuration management and log/metric aggregation.
- Engage with hardware and software vendors on product roadmaps to shape the next generation of Electronic Trading Platform infrastructure.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review or debug code written by others.
- Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and applicability within existing systems and information architecture.
- Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies.

Requirements
- 7 years of experience.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- understanding of IPv4 networking, including the OSI model, unicast/broadcast/multicast, routing, and network segmentation mechanisms.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
- Strong automation and continuous delivery capabilities.
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, AI/ML, mobile).
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
- Practical cloud-native experience.
