Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multiple teams to design, build, and maintain data systems and applications
- Analyze and design data storage structures
- Develop performant automated data pipelines that are reliable and scalable in a fast growing data ecosystem
- Apply data modeling principles and modern data platforms to design and implement data pipeline solutions
- Utilize analytic SQL and work with relational databases and distributed systems such as AWS S3, Hadoop/Hive, and Redshift
- Provide production support and adhere to defined SLA(s)
- Demonstrate strong technical skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Ensure data security, compliance, and policies in healthcare services
- Test and validate according to industry best practices and communicate effectively with technology peers
- Communicate clearly with strong interpersonal, written, and oral skills across all levels of the organization
- Prior healthcare experience is a plus
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
- Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years of data engineering experience with a Bachelor's, or 8+ years with a Master's, focused on end-to-end automation of data pipelines
- Healthcare experience and Epic systems experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases and data structures
- Solid understanding of data science and business intelligence workflows
- Programming experience in Python and Java
- Experience with large-scale data warehousing and analytics projects, including AWS technologies
- Proven track record of written communication, with strong technical and business acumen
- Experience with machine learning toolkits
- Production support and troubleshooting experience
- 10+ years hands-on with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, etc). 10+ years in data warehouse design/architecture on AWS, Data Vault 2.0 or Dimensional Modeling
- Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow or similar, containerization (Docker & Kubernetes), CloudFormation and Terraform, and AWS services (S3, AWS Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, DynamoDB, DMS, RDS, etc)
- Agile methodology and DevOps processes; familiarity with modern data integration tools (DBT, Informatica PowerCenter, AWS Glue or similar)
- 3+ years of data modeling and familiarity with AI/ML and BI tools is a plus
