Junior Data Engineer
Job Description
Kenect is seeking a Junior Data Engineer based onsite in Pleasant Grove, UT to build and maintain ELT pipelines, transform data for analytics, and support reliable reporting for revenue teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain ELT pipelines that move data from Salesforce, Outreach, Nooks, and other core business systems into BigQuery, ensuring accuracy and availability for downstream teams.
- Develop and maintain dbt models that transform raw source data into clean, documented, trustworthy tables.
- Collaborate with engineers who own product systems to understand data structures and translate them into business-friendly definitions for go-to-market teams.
- Own data discovery and documentation across systems, including identifying data locations, defining field meanings, mapping relationships, and determining source authority.
- Monitor pipeline and orchestration health in Airflow, troubleshoot failures, identify root causes, and implement lasting fixes.
- Partner with go-to-market teams to understand reporting requirements, then translate those needs into dependable data models supporting Power BI and other downstream tools.
- Support the data infrastructure and evaluation pipelines behind production AI agent systems running on Modal.
- Work within Git-based development workflows using GitHub, CircleCI, and peer code review to ship reliable and well-tested changes.
- Use AI coding assistants as a standard part of the workflow to ramp up on unfamiliar systems faster while maintaining strong engineering standards.

- Proficiency in Python for pipeline development and API integrations, with comfort working in Git-based version control.
- Experience with a cloud data warehouse, with BigQuery preferred.
- Familiarity with dbt and a workflow orchestrator such as Airflow is preferred.
- Ability to interpret unfamiliar data by digging into new schemas, asking the right questions of data owners, and translating findings into clear business terms.
- Exposure to CRM and go-to-market systems such as Salesforce, Outreach, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Documentation discipline: if something is built, it must be documented clearly for others to understand, maintain, and extend.
