Job Description
Systems Technology Forum invites a Journeyman Software Developer to contribute to the Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System from an on-site team in Dahlgren, VA. This role encompasses the full software lifecycle—from concept through deployment and ongoing maintenance—within a defense-focused, agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop software applications using Java, JavaFX, and Guice, delivering features from design through implementation.
- Maintain code with Git in local workflows and manage configurations on GitLab, including handling merge requests and repository upkeep.
- Participate in the DevSecOps pipeline to compile code, run unit tests, verify code coverage, and review SonarQube analyses.
- Conduct static code analysis with SonarQube to uncover vulnerabilities and uphold code quality.
- Create and manage local development environments through VMware Workstation virtualization.
- Handle artifacts produced by GitLab using Artifactory and enable customer deliveries via Nexus.
- Utilize Gradle to automate building, testing, and deploying the application.
- Contribute to agile processes with JIRA for ticket management and Confluence for documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of professional software development experience.
- On-site work in Dahlgren, VA, five days per week.
- Proficiency in Java, JavaFX, C++, and Linux.
- Experience with Git and GitLab.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with teammates and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a collaborative spirit.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality across development work.
