Java Apps Developer Lead Analyst - Vice President
Job Description
Citi is seeking a Lead Analyst - Vice President Software Engineer to help build and evolve the proprietary Margin Calculations and Reporting platform within Prime Finance Services. This onsite role in New York, NY 10012 focuses on delivering scalable Java application systems while guiding technical decisions, resolving complex issues, and maintaining operational excellence.
In this position, you will work independently and with strong judgment to own critical initiatives, collaborate across teams to translate business needs into technical solutions, and ensure designs align with the architectural blueprint and technology roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement robust and scalable application systems and programs for Margin Calculation Services and reporting, aligned with strategic technology initiatives.
- Partner with project managers, business stakeholders, and senior managers to convert complex requirements into well-architected technical solutions.
- Consult with users and other technology groups to provide advanced programming guidance and support.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across diverse management teams to support seamless integration and aligned execution toward strategic organizational goals.
- Identify and implement system enhancements that support new product deployments and process improvements.
- Lead resolution of high-impact problems and critical projects by evaluating intricate business processes, complex system architectures, and relevant industry standards.
- Use advanced analytical and interpretive thinking to define issues, uncover root causes, and develop innovative, sustainable solutions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in application programming, ensuring designs rigorously adhere to the overall architectural blueprint and strategic technology roadmap.
- Establish and enforce robust standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation based on a deep understanding of system flow.
- Act as a trusted advisor and coach for mid-level developers and analysts, providing guidance, fostering skill development, and allocating work to maximize team potential.
- Ensure adherence to best practices and essential procedures.
- Proactively assess and manage technical risks with a strong commitment to regulatory compliance, ethical judgment, and transparent reporting of control issues.
Requirements
- 6-10 years of progressive experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications, including a proven record of successful project implementation.
- Strong proficiency in Java application technologies, including deep experience with TDD (Test-Driven Development), the Spring framework, and Microservices architecture.
- Excellent knowledge of algorithms and data structures and strong systems analysis and programming fundamentals.
- Strong Java experience including Java core, collections, concurrency, and streams.
- Frameworks and APIs: Spring (Core, Batch, Integration, MVC, Boot, Data), Hibernate, Jackson, JAX RS, JPA, JAXB.
- Experience with distributed caches such as Apache Gemfire is a plus.
- Messaging experience with JMS and Kafka.
- Testing experience including JUnit and mocking frameworks such as Mockito and Power Mock.
- Experience improving performance using parallel processing and multithreading, including understanding locking and synchronization.
- Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with RESTful API development and integration, plus deployment framework and source control experience such as Git.
- Solid understanding and experience with SQL.
- Proficiency in Linux environments.
- Experience with job scheduling.
- Working knowledge of project management techniques with focus on agile methodologies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt quickly to evolving priorities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with global teams to deliver integrated solutions.
