IT/Business Intel Developer

Tallahassee Memorial is looking for an IT/Business Intel Developer to plan, coordinate, develop, implement, and maintain Epic data reporting tools and integrated components. This onsite role in Tallahassee, FL focuses on improving data reporting, data mining, and data analysis to support organizational, clinical, and business reporting goals, while helping build a secure, integrated patient care delivery reporting platform.

What you’ll do

• Participate in the planning, coordination, development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of data reporting, data mining, and data analysis solutions.
• Work with clinicians and system end users to design, build, implement, document, evaluate, and maintain Epic data reporting tools and integrated components.
• Use SQL and other analytical tools to create and support reporting user interfaces, including alerts, prompts, screens, dashboards, templates, reports, and data extracts.
• Analyze business problems and recommend solutions aligned to organizational, clinical, and business reporting objectives.
• Support an integrated and secure reporting platform intended to improve outcomes, reduce cost, increase efficiency, and enhance patients’ experiences.

Tools and technologies

You’ll work with Epic and related reporting technologies, plus analytics and programming tools including Cogito, Clarity, Caboodle, Chronicles, SQL, Python, C#, and Visual Basic.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, IT management, software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, computer information systems (IS), applied engineering, health information management (HIM), health informatics, nursing informatics, nursing, health science, education, business administration, health care, or a related field.
• Human Resources may accept directly related work experience for education on a 1-year:1-year basis (experience credited in lieu of formal education does not count toward the minimum experience requirement).
• Two (2) years of directly related professional experience.
• Communication skills (critical).
• Complex problem-solving skills (critical).
• Related Epic certification(s) required (multiple certifications may be required based on functional area and job responsibilities).
• Required certifications must be obtained within ninety (90) days from the last class completion.
• If a required certification is not obtained after three (3) examination attempts, there is a thirty (30) day period after the last attempt to apply for other job opportunities within the organization.
• If another position cannot be acquired, employment with Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, Inc. (TMH) ends.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with one or more of Epic’s Cogito reporting modules, including Clarity, Caboodle, and Chronicles.
• Experience with SQL-like language.
• Journeyman knowledge of SQL programming and data extraction methodologies.
• Knowledge of report development best practices.
• Understanding of RDBMS concepts.
• Familiarity with hospital workflows.
• Experience with programming languages, data modeling standards, and data structures.
• Proficiency in at least one: Python, C#, Visual Basic, or another object-oriented programming language.
• Ability to analyze and understand business problems and recommend solutions.
