Job Description

EY’s Government and Public Sector Technology Consulting team (AI & Data) is looking for a GenAI Developer Manager to help clients build and sustain scalable, robust applications that blend modern web frameworks with AI models, including generative AI. The role supports government initiatives by translating data science and big data technologies into solutions that unify, enrich, and analyze data from multiple sources.

This onsite position is based in McLean, VA and focuses on both application delivery and the practical integration of generative AI into web-based products, working closely with AI/ML engineers to drive quality and product excellence.

  • Support government clients with delivering data science and big data technologies and practices to design, build, and maintain scalable and robust solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • At least 6-8+ years of overall relevant professional experience, including modern web development (for example, JavaScript/TypeScript).
  • At least 6-8+ years of overall relevant professional experience, including backend development (for example, Node.js, Python, FastAPI, or similar).
  • At least 6-8+ years of overall relevant professional experience, including integrating generative AI models into applications (for example, via APIs or fine-tuned models).
  • At least 6-8+ years of overall relevant professional experience, including deploying applications on cloud platforms (for example, AWS, Azure, Vercel, etc.).
  • 2+ years of GenAI experience, including understanding of statistical modeling and skills in ETL, data ingestion/cleansing.
  • Machine learning experience including k-NN, naive bayes, decision trees, and SVM.
  • Experience using data mining and statistical tools.
  • Solid pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills.
  • Experience with recommendation engines, scoring systems, and A/B testing.
  • Experience with multiple tools and libraries such as Weka, NumPy, PyMongo, R, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with various big data technologies in one or more ecosystems (for example, Hadoop, AWS, or Microsoft).
  • Comfortable working in-person as needed.
  • Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms (for example, AWS, Azure, Vercel, etc.).

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in mathematics, information systems, statistics, computer science, or related disciplines.
  • Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate) and AI inference optimizations.
  • Experience with open-source AI and web projects.
  • Experience with RAG or fine-tuning models.
  • Thorough business understanding of data science application and the ability to communicate with key decision-makers.
  • Communication skills, including actively listening, understanding questions, and developing clear insights.

Compensation: USD 125,500 - 261,600 per year.
