Full Stack Python / AWS Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Invent and implement innovative software solutions, covering design, development, and debugging, with the ability to tackle non-routine problems and decompose complex technical challenges.
• Build end-to-end cloud-native microservices applications, applying modern tech stacks and industry-leading practices.
• Apply domain modeling to shape top-tier business products, organizing code for clarity, testability, and evolution.
• Deliver secure, production-grade code and perform peer reviews and debugging of peers' work.
• Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to boost stability across applications and systems.
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness of new technologies and foster a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
• Investigate and resolve issues promptly to prevent recurrence; continuously update technologies and patterns to keep systems current.
• Architect scalable solutions that minimize single points of failure using robust architectural patterns.
• Drive adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, with examples such as AI-assisted code review, test acceleration, release readiness, and root-cause analysis; establish measurable validation standards and promote reuse within the SDLC/TLM toolchain.
• Leverage SDLC tools, including approved AI-assisted development capabilities, to maximize automation value at scale.
• Design and build scalable, secure, and reliable solutions using modern patterns that support zero-downtime releases and optimized data performance.

Requirements

• Formal training or certifications in software engineering concepts, plus 5+ years of hands-on experience.
• Back-end proficiency in Python, Flask, Django with experience building microservices, plus front-end skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Angular.
• Proven ability to independently design and implement solutions with minimal supervision.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), distributed systems, and web technologies including RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and JSON.
• Hands-on design and development of scalable applications using SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Agile practices (Scrum) and a solid grasp of the software development lifecycle.
• Understanding of application resiliency.
• Skilled in automation and continuous delivery, with deep SDLC expertise and advanced understanding of CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Experience guiding enterprise AI-assisted development tool adoption for coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting, with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security standards; experience coaching senior engineers on compliant usage and controls.
• Proven proficiency in software applications and processes within a technical domain such as cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile.
