Full Stack Developer

Full Stack Developer role at Austin Community College onsite in Austin, TX, supporting marketing and web presence by shaping site information architecture, navigational structure, user interface, visuals, graphics, and multimedia components under the web administrator and in collaboration with marketing and design teams.

Responsibilities

• Develops and tests engaging, user centered web experiences aligned with college strategies; designs information architecture, navigation, UI, visuals, graphics, HTML emails, and interactive features for multiple devices and channels.
• Collaborates with marketing and design teams to define strategy, processes, and schedules for web projects.
• Creates interaction models, workflows, information architectures, prototypes, and UI guidelines.
• Delivers final production ready assets for deployment to production websites and web applications.
• Optimizes designs and features to reduce download times and ensure cross browser and platform compatibility.
• Researches new tools and services to enhance the effectiveness, functionality, and appearance of ACCs web presence.
• Keeps up to date with web standards, marketing strategies, design trends, development processes, and production methods.
• Maintains current knowledge of web development tools and methods, including hardware and software aspects.
• Serves on the emergency communication team as required.

Requirements

• Strong visual design skills with expertise in layout and typography for the web.
• Deep understanding of web UX, information architecture, and web graphics creation.
• Solid knowledge of web standards with emphasis on accessibility and user experience.
• Proficiency with professional web development and graphics tools.
• Experience with CSS compliant website design and coding.
• Familiarity with open source CMS development, especially Drupal or WordPress.
• Understanding of web marketing fundamentals.
• Ability to rapidly learn and apply new web development methods and technologies.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
• Maintains an established work schedule.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and instructional skills, with tact and diplomacy.
• Excellent organizational and planning abilities with attention to detail and follow through.

• Experience in web markup using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.

• Knowledge of cross browser compatibility solutions.
• Minimum one year of related work experience, including paid or unpaid internships.
• Associate degree.
