Epic Cogito Business Intelligence Developer Analyst

The Epic Cogito BI Developer Analyst designs, builds, and sustains enterprise analytics solutions using Epic Cogito, reporting to the Cogito Application Manager.

• Collaborate with BI developers, Cogito developers, analytics business analysts, clinical informatics, application teams, and customers to gather, analyze, and document reporting requirements, delivering data solutions using Epic Cogito.
• Design, code, test, and maintain reporting and analytics objects including extracts, following industry best practices.
• Provide production support and respond to help desk tickets related to BI tools and the Epic Cogito suite.
• Support ITS infrastructure and applications that underlie analytics initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance to cross-functional BI stakeholders.
• Perform design and code reviews of developed solutions to ensure quality and consistency.
• Follow ITS Analytics report build standards and change control processes, prioritizing enterprise-wide builds and long-term maintenance.
• Design and develop metrics, reports, and analyses from intermediate to advanced complexity to support key business decisions.
• Collaborate with team members to develop BI solutions efficiently and within design estimates.
• Test solutions prior to external reviews or testing cycles.
• Coordinate with business analysts, data architects, SQL administrators, BI administrators, and others to understand and document technical requirements, capabilities, and limitations.
• Prioritize tasks under guidance from a manager, designated lead, supervisor, or project manager.
• Investigate questions and issues involving production reporting solutions.
• Coordinate projects without direct supervisory authority.
• Operate effectively within multiple technical environments.
• Manage the reporting lifecycle from requirements gathering to build tracking in Jira, and communicate with requesters.
• Support upgrades, special updates, complete Epic Nova Notes, and utilize Sherlocks and Checklists as appropriate.

Requirements

• Experience independently working with Clarity and Caboodle schemas.
• At least two years in a healthcare setting in a similar role, supporting report requests and using Epic Cogito Enterprise Intelligence suite and UserWeb.
• Two or more years writing complex, highly optimized SQL queries across large data volumes, with query performance tuning and stored procedures.
• Demonstrated experience using Epic Reporting Workbench extract framework and Batch Scheduler.
• Experience with at least one Epic implementation is preferred.
• Experience managing the complete report development lifecycle for small to medium scale projects.
• Strong understanding of BI reporting best practices.
• Ability to learn diverse organizational structures and cultures and foster collaboration.
• Effective written and verbal English communication skills.
