Embedded Software Engineer

Leoforce is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for an onsite role in Irvine, CA, focusing on Yocto, Embedded Linux, microprocessors, and cryptography theory.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test embedded software systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and robustness.
• Handle all stages of the software development lifecycle from requirements through design, coding, verification, debugging, and maintenance.
• Apply expertise in Yocto, Embedded Linux, microprocessors, and cryptography theory to build innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to define software specifications and requirements.
• Participate in code and design reviews to uphold high development standards.
• Diagnose and resolve software defects and other technical issues.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and translate them into practical enhancements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers and engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of embedded software development experience.
• Proficient with Yocto, Embedded Linux, microprocessors, and cryptography theory.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Deep knowledge of OS programming techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystems.
• Strong debugging and problem solving skills.
• Ability to read schematics and component data sheets.
• Effective documentation and writing skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team oriented environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Self motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
