Job Description

Embedded Software Engineer role in Lockheed Martin's F-35 Vehicle Systems Software group, developing and maintaining software for the Vehicle Management Computer in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver reliable embedded applications that enable safe and effective F-35 operation.
  • Design, implement, and verify C++ embedded software for the Vehicle Management Computer within Agile workflows.
  • Apply object‑oriented design principles and safety‑critical development standards throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Perform unit testing using the LDRA tool, maintaining required coverage and traceability.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional engineers, participate in Scrum ceremonies, and contribute to CI pipelines.
  • Adhere to configuration management, documentation, and certification requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with C++ and object‑oriented design techniques.
  • Experience with embedded software systems.
  • Experience with safety‑critical software development processes (eg DO 178).
  • LDRA C++ unit testing experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab or Bitbucket and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Green Hills software development tools.
  • Experience with the Rhapsody design tool.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience with requirements‑based CSCI testing.
  • Knowledge of Python.
  • Strong work ethic, self‑motivation, and excellent written and oral communication; strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • This position requires a government security clearance.
