Job Description

Meta is seeking a Data Engineer for Product Analytics based in Seattle, WA, with onsite expectations. In this role, you will design and build scalable data solutions and data models that support growth, strategy, and user experience across Meta products, while maintaining strong standards for privacy, security, compliance, and data quality.

You will help shape how product analytics data is captured, transformed, and delivered, including planning data warehouse work, implementing logging and data extraction/ETL, and defining operational expectations for key data sets through Service Level Agreements.

What you’ll do

  • Manage and execute data warehouse plans for a product or set of products to solve well-scoped problems.
  • Determine the data required for business questions, implement the logging needed to keep data available, and work with data infrastructure teams to triage issues and resolve them.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs and communicate important data insights clearly.
  • Build data expertise and use data controls to ensure privacy, security, compliance, data quality, and operational readiness within areas you own.
  • Design, build, and launch new data models and visualizations in production using common development toolkits.
  • Independently design, build, and launch data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes in production, including mentoring others on efficient query practices.
  • Support and improve existing production processes, implementing optimized solutions with limited guidance when needed.
  • Define and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for data sets in your areas of ownership.

Minimum qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience where your primary responsibility involved working with data (for example: data analyst, data scientist, data engineer, or similar roles).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, and data modeling, plus experience with at least one programming language such as Python, C++, C#, Scala (or others).

Preferred qualifications

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a STEM field.
  • Proven ability to integrate AI tools to optimize or redesign workflows with measurable impact (such as efficiency gains or quality improvements).
  • Experience applying responsible, ethical AI practices, including risk assessment, bias mitigation, and quality and accuracy reviews.
  • Ongoing AI skill development, such as prompt or context engineering and agent orchestration, along with staying current on emerging AI technologies.

Compensation: USD 114,000 - 173,000 per year.
