Job Description
PNC Financial Services Group seeks a Data Engineer Associate to support its Asset Management Group in a fully onsite role based in Farmers Branch, Texas. The position centers on building and maintaining data pipelines with PySpark, Hadoop, and SQL, handling ingestion, transformation, and governance across multiple applications. The role contributes to scalable, reliable data solutions that empower business decision-making and data-driven insights.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate in developing, supporting, and implementing data solutions for multiple applications to meet business objectives, applying technical knowledge to design, build, and maintain solutions.
- Conduct data requirements analysis and create data preparation workflows for targeted solutions.
- Assist in designing and building data service infrastructure across multiple platforms per the workflow.
- Contribute to the development and deployment of data solutions to ensure scalability, availability, and maintainability.
- Consult on data migration and transformation to ensure accuracy and security.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with PySpark and Hadoop ecosystems, developing and maintaining data pipelines using Spark, Hive, and HDFS.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to understand business logic, write optimized queries, and work with large analytical datasets in Hive/Impala.
- Experience building and supporting data ingestion and transformation pipelines, including source-to-target mappings, data validation, and quality checks.
- Familiarity with agile delivery models, collaborating within cross-functional teams (developers, analysts, QA, product owners) and participating in sprint-based development and releases.
- Working knowledge of data governance and tooling, such as metadata management (e.g., Alation), documentation standards, and controlled promotion of data to production environments.

Pay Transparency
Base Salary: $45,000.00 – $142,250.00
Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
