Data Engineer

Arcfield is hiring a Data Engineer to support complex data and networking environments in Newport, RI (onsite).

Responsibilities

• Operate under general supervision and provide solutions to technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
• Work with complex data and networking systems while following strict organizational standards.
• Collaborate with a large, established cross-discipline team; communicate effectively in support of shared delivery.
• Support the management of unstructured and semi-structured data.
• Use and maintain Linux systems, including Ubuntu and RHEL.
• Learn and work with additional Unix-like or non-standard OS environments (examples include Dell OneFS, QTS, and Cisco IOS).
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot automated scripts using common scripting and programming languages (including Bash and Batch).
• Use programming languages such as C/C++ and Python to support scripting development and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 2-4 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 0-2 years of experience, or High School with 8-10 years of experience.
• Experience involved in the management of unstructured and semi-structured data.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
