Data Engineer

PeopleTec, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer to support mission work at its Huntsville, Alabama location. This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility to perform the work.

Clearance and Eligibility Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required
• Candidates must have an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility upon hire
• Ability to maintain this clearance level during employment is required

Experience Level

• Junior: 2-5 years
• Mid: 5-8 years
• Senior: 8-10 years
• SME: 10-12+ years

Education

BS or B.A. Degree

Core Responsibilities

Develop and support data pipelines with a focus on development, optimization, and tuning. Work across data engineering workflows that may include ETL and large-scale processing, integrating technologies such as Spark and NiFi, and operating within Linux-based environments.

Required Technical Skills

• Proficiency with Python, Java, or Scala and AWS
• Knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP)
• Knowledge of statistical techniques used to evaluate ML model performance
• Experience using git and GitLab for CI/CD
• Experience with ETL and data pipeline development
• Familiarity with Spark, NiFi, and Linux

Additional Skills

• Perl and PL/SQL
• Familiarity with Postgres
• Informatica is a plus
• AWS
