Data Engineer

McCoy Group is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain enterprise data solutions in Dubuque, IA.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and integration pipelines
• Integrate data from databases, APIs, on-premises systems, and third-party platforms
• Develop and optimize Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse and Microsoft Fabric Data Warehouse environments
• Support Power BI reporting, analytics, and AI-ready data initiatives
• Ensure data security, reliability, accuracy, and proper governance
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize pipeline performance
• Apply coding best practices including documentation, version control, and deployment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of Data Engineering experience
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar cloud-based platforms
• Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT, data modeling, and data warehousing
• Experience with SQL, Python and/or Spark, Power BI, APIs, Git/DevOps, and data integration
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with production troubleshooting experience
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work with confidential information
• Ability to travel when needed
