Data Engineer
Job Description
Leidos is seeking a Data Engineer to join the FAA NISC support team in Fort Worth, working onsite to help drive SharePoint management, BI dashboards, and data reporting for FAA senior leaders and external groups. This role focuses on turning complex data into accessible insights and actionable dashboards that inform decision making. The position offers a salary range of USD 73,450 to 132,775 per year.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine data reporting and analytics processes to support automation, streamline operations, and improve efficiency.
- Build BI reporting solutions using Tableau, SAP Business Objects, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and other Office tools.
- Create dashboards and interactive visuals tailored to organizational requirements.
- Develop databases that back web applications and websites.
- Assess user needs to implement site content, graphics, performance improvements, and capacity planning.
- Produce, design, and edit web content or oversee teams delivering it.
- Design and deploy dashboards and reports on Tableau Server.
- Translate business requirements into features and functionality needed to achieve outcomes.
- Support the development of internal policies and procedures impacting cross-functional activities and best practices.
- Demonstrate independent ability to research, study workflows, and implement automated processes.
- Oversee the SharePoint environment and access to shared drives to support high-priority projects and programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in statistics, mathematics, data analytics, or a related analytical field; equivalents considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience managing multiple databases.
- Proficiency in creating Tableau reports and dashboards.
- Strong data visualization, dashboard design, and workflow capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and database design principles.
- Experience with relational databases, SQL, and API-based data querying.
- Background in developing predictive algorithms, image classifiers, object detectors, and related approaches.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI and other graphical applications.
- Experience with data science languages such as R and Python.
- Ability to merge and manage disparate data sources using R, Python, or SQL.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
