Data Engineer
Job Description
Data Engineer role based in Huntsville, AL, focused on building data pipelines, integrating sources for dashboards, analytics, and compliance reporting, and ensuring data security through testing, implementation, design, and monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Lead coordination with internal and external stakeholders to collect, normalize, and analyze data assets across diverse projects and platforms.
- Design, maintain, evaluate, and validate valuable data solutions to support organizational analytics and data initiatives.
- Define and enforce policies and practices that protect data value, deliverability, and integrity across programs.
- Ingest, store, process, and analyze raw or complex data from multiple sources; recommend data applications, design optimal solutions, and build processing systems using modern data warehousing and database technologies.
- Investigate data quality issues, perform root-cause analyses, correct errors, and develop prototypes and process-improvement plans spanning programs, including proofs of concept.
- Transform unstructured data into analysis-ready formats and conduct subsequent analyses.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate innovations and algorithms into the organization's data systems.
- Deliver complex data projects focused on collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets to turn information into actionable insights across multiple platforms.
- Establish security protocols to protect all data collected and used by the organization.
- Ensure day-to-day policy, process, and procedures compliance throughout operations.
- Assist in identifying data needs and support data collection for various operational requirements.
- Engage in data analysis, problem solving, investigation, and creative thinking with large data volumes; maintain source code control.
- Create and maintain data ingestion and transformations within Vantage and Gabriel Nimbus.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, IT, or related business programs.
- At least 4 years of experience building data pipelines, performing data transformation, and integrating sources for dashboards, AI/ML, analytics, and compliance reporting.
- Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS with SCI eligibility.
- Successful completion of background and drug screening.
