Job Description

The Data Engineer role at Information Technology Senior Management Forum focuses on assembling reliable data pipelines, ensuring data quality and governance, and supporting machine learning initiatives. The position leads data engineering efforts to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable data solutions while fostering cross-team collaboration and mentoring staff to strengthen data-driven decision making. This onsite role is based in Spring, Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees one or more data engineering teams through all phases of design, development, and integration of complex, secure, and performant data solutions and models, handling both structured and unstructured data.
  • Evaluates designs and project activities for adherence to architecture, security, and quality standards, providing actionable feedback to improve product quality and reduce risk of failure.
  • Provides domain-specific expertise and leadership for data systems across cross-organization projects and programs.
  • Promotes innovation by assessing and integrating new technologies within big data initiatives.
  • Maintains collaboration with project teams to track progress and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Represents the data engineering function in phases of large and complex development projects.
  • Supports coaching and training of business analytics solution users to enhance decision-making capabilities.
  • Maintains high data integrity by employing tools to monitor and mass update data changes as needed.
  • Fosters relationships across the organization and with stakeholders.
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff members.

Requirements

  • A four-year or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Statistics/Mathematics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically 7 to 10 years of relevant work experience in data analytics, data engineering, data modeling, or related fields.
  • Certification or proven capability in programming languages such as SQL, Python, or similar.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Amazon Web Services.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Apache Hadoop, Apache Kafka, and Apache Spark.
  • Understanding of Big Data concepts and related data engineering practices.
  • Experience with data analysis, data modeling, data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
  • Programming language experience in Java, Python, Scala, and SQL.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts is desirable.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong communication, results orientation, learning agility, digital fluency, and customer-centric mindset.

  • Salary: USD 130,700 - 205,200 per year
