Data Architect / Principal Data Engineer III

Hudson Manpower is seeking a Senior Data Architect / Principal Data Engineer III to join a banking client on site in Cincinnati, Ohio. The role centers on designing and delivering scalable data solutions, leveraging DBT, Snowflake, and SQL to support critical business capabilities. The position offers an hourly rate of USD 55 to 60 and requires hands-on leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and support of data solutions, APIs, tools, and processes to enable rapid delivery of business capabilities.
• Collaborate with IT application teams, Enterprise Architecture, infrastructure, information security, and line of business stakeholders to translate business and technical strategies into data-driven solutions for the bank.
• Serve as a technical expert addressing challenges related to system and application design, performance, integration, and security.
• Conduct research and development aligned with current trends in banking, data engineering, data security, and related topics.
• Partner with developers to build CI/CD pipelines, self-service build tools, and automated deployment processes.
• Evaluate software products and provide documented recommendations as needed.
• Provide support and troubleshooting for data platforms, with willingness to provide escalated on-call support for complex incidents.
• Participate in planning for hardware and software needs.
• Contribute to internal projects such as legacy system replacements, monitoring and analytics improvements, tool development, and technical documentation.
• Offer technical guidance and mentoring to other team members.
• Manage and prioritize multiple assignments effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting to management, sponsors, and technical teams in a clear, appropriate language for each audience.
• Seven+ years of IT work experience relevant to the position.
• Working knowledge of application and data security concepts, best practices, and common vulnerabilities.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: big data technologies, metadata management products, commercial ETL tools, BI and reporting tools, messaging systems, data warehousing, Java, major version control systems, CI/CD tools, infrastructure automation and virtualization tools, cloud platforms, or REST API design and development.
• Previous experience working with offshore teams is desirable.
• Financial industry experience is a plus.
