BI Software Engineer I

Penske Truck Leasing and Logistics is expanding its BI capabilities with an onsite BI Software Engineer I role in Beachwood, Ohio. This position focuses on shaping the design of complex BI components that support critical applications and helping deliver the next generation of BI solutions to customers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to capture reporting needs and build dashboards and BI reports.
• Translate business requirements for BI tools into actionable technical tasks.
• Contribute to BI software development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Curate and manage reports to ensure accuracy and usefulness.
• Engage in data warehouse design and data modeling activities.
• Design and implement BI applications with robust integration to databases and data warehouses.
• Document data warehouse contents.
• Aid in integrating BI platforms with broader enterprise systems and applications.
• Triage production issues and provide responsive support to users.
• Serve as primary contact and lead support for one or more BI applications.
• Produce technical documentation for BI tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent years of software development experience (at least 5 years of technology experience).
• 3+ years building BI applications using tools such as Tableau or SAP Business Objects.
• Hands-on experience with Tableau and/or Sigma dashboard development.
• 3+ years of experience in data analysis.
• Data modeling experience preferred.
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript and familiarity with data visualization libraries.
• Intermediate knowledge of data integration tools, ETL/ELT processes, data formatting, and warehouse architecture.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present ideas in accessible language.
• Ability to work independently to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
