Job Description

This early-career Associate Data Engineer role in Charlotte, NC supports financial crime analytics within the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) domain. You will design, build, and deliver data-driven solutions using the Quantexa platform in an agile delivery environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders and product owners to clarify requirements, define acceptance criteria, and convert use cases into user stories and business rules.
  • Review source systems and enterprise datasets to establish data mappings, transformation logic, and data quality rules that align with Quantexa standards.
  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and transformations that enable analytics, reporting, and investigative workflows.
  • Configure and support end-to-end Quantexa solutions, including entity resolution, network modeling, scoring logic, validation, and UI components.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and backlog refinement, to ensure the delivery team clearly understands requirements.
  • Document data logic, mappings, and solution design to support transparency, auditability, and effective knowledge transfer.
  • Detect data inconsistencies, inefficiencies, or reliability risks and propose improvements to enhance solution performance.
  • Contribute to unit testing and validation to confirm solutions meet defined business and technical standards.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Python or Java and relational data models.
  • Experience with cloud platforms including Azure and Databricks.
  • Experience with developer tools including Git, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (onsite/hybrid as determined by the client).
  • Experience level: Early-career / junior-level data engineer.
  • Domain focus: Financial Crime Analytics, primarily Anti-Money Laundering (AML).
  • Platform: Quantexa, including entity resolution, network analytics, and risk scoring.
