Job Description
Govcio LLC is seeking a Senior Application Developer/Tester who holds an active Secret clearance to perform manual and automated testing across applications, APIs, and databases within a federal Agile program. This hybrid role is based in Fairfax, VA and provides the chance to contribute to security, compliance, and documentation efforts that support federal accreditation activities.
Compensation for this role ranges from USD 135,000 to USD 165,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Create and run manual and automated test cases for Java and Spring Boot based systems, HTMX, SQL, and Oracle environments.
- Conduct functional, integration, regression, performance, and security testing across Windows and Linux platforms.
- Verify API behavior, user interface workflows, backend logic, and database interactions.
- Record defects and test evidence in Azure DevOps, maintaining accurate and repeatable test artifacts.
- Produce detailed and concise testing documentation to ensure testing procedures are clear and reproducible.
- Support testing in both classified and unclassified environments in line with federal security procedures.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as standups, planning, refinement, and retrospectives as part of the development team.
- Integrate testing activities into Azure DevOps and collaborate to expand automation coverage.
- Deliver testing artifacts that support Authority to Operate activities, including control validation and security assessment evidence.
- Validate STIG compliance and configuration baselines as part of system security testing.
- Communicate test status, risks, and issues clearly with government product owners and stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with developers, engineers, and cross-team members within the software development testing effort.
Requirements
- High School diploma required with 10+ years of experience in a testing role within a software development team.
- Experience testing software in both classified and unclassified federal environments.
- Hands-on testing experience with Java, Spring Boot, HTMX, SQL, and Oracle.
- Proficiency with Azure DevOps for test management, work items, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience testing on Windows and Linux environments.
- Working knowledge of the NIST Risk Management Framework RMF, including security control testing and ATO documentation.
- Familiarity with STIGs and federal cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience working on Agile Scrum teams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage directly with government product owners and mission stakeholders.
- Ability to produce clear, concise testing documentation suitable for audits, compliance, and accreditation.
