Appian Software Engineer

DMBA (Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators) is seeking an Appian Software Engineer to join its Platforms team. This role supports the design and delivery of secure enterprise applications that improve healthcare administration, business operations, and process automation. The position emphasizes Appian-based solution development, system integrations, deployment, and ongoing troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy applications using Appian and related technologies.
• Convert business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Build integrations between applications and APIs, databases, and other enterprise systems.
• Troubleshoot, enhance, and support existing applications.
• Participate in design reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
• Apply an AI-first approach to use Appian and other AI tools to optimize output.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of software development experience.
• Experience with Appian or another low-code platform, such as Pega, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Power Platform, or K2.
• Strong understanding of software development fundamentals and object-oriented programming.
• Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
• Experience integrating applications using REST APIs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
