ADNET Systems, Inc. invites you to join onsite in Greenbelt, MD as part of a team focused on cloud based scientific computing. The role centers on building and testing migrations of services to AWS and supporting the Fornax science platform on AWS. You will manage containerized environments and enable Jupyter workflows in the cloud environment.

What you will do

  • Develop and test approaches for migrating services to AWS, deploying complex software and CPU-heavy workloads in the cloud, while evaluating feasibility and cost implications.
  • Support the Fornax science platform by deploying a Jupyter stack on AWS.
  • Own the containerized software environment for users on this platform.
  • Develop and deploy extensions for JupyterLab.
  • Install third party software as needed.
  • Debug interfaces and troubleshoot container level issues or cross interactions with AWS infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the cloud engineering team to address container and AWS integration challenges.

What you need

  • Hands-on experience with software containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalent) in production or research computing environments.
  • Python and Bash scripting in Unix environments.
  • Practical AWS experience with compute, storage, and networking services (EC2, S3, EFS, or similar).
  • Ability to evaluate technical feasibility and document trade-offs clearly for engineering teams and program stakeholders.
  • Experience diagnosing problems spanning application software, container configuration, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong version control and configuration management practices (Git).
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (LPR) required, with at least 3 consecutive years of US residency.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a NASA Tier 1 Investigation.
