Advanced Software Engineer for Linux Application Development for Crypto and Cross Domain Solutions

Acara Solutions is hiring an Advanced Software Engineer to help build next-generation cryptographic and Cross Domain Solutions technologies for national security programs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Linux-based applications for embedded cryptographic systems.
• Support the full software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, testing, and deployment.
• Build secure, high-performance applications for embedded Linux environments.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and cybersecurity teams to integrate software into advanced platforms.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex software and embedded system issues.
• Deliver innovative technical solutions while following software engineering standards and best practices.
• Participate in Agile activities including sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to software architectures and development processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years developing software applications for Linux-based platforms.
• 3+ years developing embedded Linux applications.
• 3+ years with software architecture, design, development, debugging, and integration activities.

Technical Environment and Tools

• Linux-based platforms and embedded Linux
• Xilinx Vitis, Petalinux, Zynq UltraScale+, Versal
• Software Defined Radio (SDR)
• Docker and Podman
• Wind River Linux (or similar embedded operating systems)
• Secure communications systems
• Secure Red/Black Separation architectures

• Pay: USD 62 - 62 per hourly
• Experience level: 3+ years minimum
