Advanced Software Engineer

General Dynamics Mission Systems, Inc. is seeking an Advanced Software Engineer for the TCS program. This role supports a cross functional team, applies software engineering concepts and development processes, and emphasizes technical leadership, continuous improvement, and opportunities to incorporate AI.

Role Overview

As a software engineer for the TCS program, you will work within a cross functional team responsible for supporting the TCS program. The position focuses on leading software development efforts, applying software engineering principles and theories, and driving improvements to development processes over time.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a software engineer for the TCS program and participate on a cross functional team supporting program needs.
• Lead the software development process.
• Apply technical standards and methodologies to address challenges in creative ways.
• Provide technical leadership while helping others succeed.
• Use a strong understanding of technology trends to champion new ideas and process improvements.
• Commit to ongoing professional development for yourself and others.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience.

Security Clearance and Eligibility

• Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire.
• Selected applicants will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

• This position is fully on-site.
• On-site location: 9100 Ashton Avenue, Manassas, VA GDMS facility.

Compensation

Estimated salary range: USD 112,924 to 125,275 per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range based on experience and other factors such as geographic location; actual pay may vary.

Combined Salary Range: USD $112,924.00 - USD $125,275.00 /Yr.
