General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a seasoned Full Stack Software Developer to support a government mission from our McLean, Virginia site. This role requires a TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph and focuses on building scalable backend and frontend systems, microservices, and automated CI/CD pipelines to deliver reliable features for critical government projects.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure back-end services and APIs, including REST and GraphQL interfaces.
- Establish and manage a microservices ecosystem using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL stores (MongoDB), covering schema design, query optimization, indexing and performance tuning for high-volume data.
- Maintain data integrity through database management and version control, implementing migrations and ensuring production availability.
- Build and operate CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment and monitoring for rapid feature delivery.
- Develop front-end components with JavaScript and modern frameworks such as React and Lit, ensuring seamless integration with back-end services.
- Optimize backend performance using caching (Redis, Memcached), load balancing and queueing strategies.
- Design architectures capable of handling high concurrency and large data volumes.
- Stay current with new backend technologies and best practices, advising on enhancements to extend existing systems and enable new capabilities.
- Desirable: Python for AI model integration and scripting, and DevOps practices in CI/CD (for example Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) to streamline workflows; API and microservices to enable inter-service communication.

- Education: BA/BS in Information Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, or work experience.

Salary and Location
Salary range is USD 186,542 to 252,379 per year. Location: McLean, VA, onsite at the customer site.
