This engagement seeks a Top Secret cleared full stack software engineer with strong Python and FastAPI expertise for an FBI contract. The role centers on designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend and frontend components, with in-person work based in Lorton, Virginia.

Compensation

Salary: USD 180,000 - 190,000 per year.

Role overview

We are hiring a motivated full stack software engineer with at least five years of backend development experience, well-versed in modern web technologies, cloud native tooling, and mobile testing frameworks. The position emphasizes applying software engineering best practices to design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, high-performance applications.
• Develop RESTful APIs and backend services using Python and Java.
• Build asynchronous and distributed systems leveraging task queues and messaging frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to define and deliver new features.
• Write clean, maintainable code following established best practices.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and system design decisions.
• Ensure code quality through unit testing and end-to-end testing.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for systems and processes.
• Participate in Agile workflows and contribute to sprint planning and reviews.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Solid grasp of JavaScript and frontend frameworks, particularly Vue.js.
• Experience with FastAPI.
• Hands-on experience with Celery for asynchronous task processing.
• Strong understanding of SQLAlchemy for ORM and data modeling.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of MongoDB as a NoSQL database.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes for orchestration and deployment.
• Proficiency in Git.
• Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, and Bitbucket.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
• Experience in unit testing and end-to-end testing.
• Knowledge of ORMs and data modeling patterns.

• Ability to create clear and concise technical documentation.
