Staff Machine Learning Engineer

Own end-to-end machine learning efforts to modernize the Uber Freight marketplace team in Sunnyvale, CA (onsite).

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end ownership of ML models for the UF marketplace, including cost prediction, booking probability, and demand elasticity
• Collaborate with backend engineers to productionize models and integrate them into the marketplace systems
• Help ensure deployed models work as expected and meet required model performance objectives

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience developing ML models to solve business problems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Familiarity with modern AI/ML frameworks, such as PyTorch

Preferred Qualifications

• Product experience
• Ability to adapt ML models to the business context
• Experience with state-of-the-art marketplace technology
• Experience with causal inference and constrained optimization

Compensation

• Base salary: USD 232,000 - 258,000 per year (Sunnyvale, CA)
