Job Description

Slalom seeks a hands-on Sr. Data Engineer/Architect to help modernize enterprise data pipelines in a cloud environment. This role focuses on design, development, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancement of critical workflows, including AI-assisted engineering and production support.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Develop and support Informatica-based data integration workflows.
  • Design scalable data solutions and data models.
  • Troubleshoot production issues to ensure pipeline reliability.
  • Use AI-enabled tools to accelerate development, testing, and support activities.
  • Follow CI/CD, version control, and engineering best practices.
  • Participate in a light on-call rotation for Sev 2+ pipeline incidents (approximately once every 5-6 weeks).

Required Qualifications

  • Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
  • Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language.
  • Experience building and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Informatica (PowerCenter, IICS, or similar).
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms.
  • Familiarity with Airflow or comparable orchestration tools.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and production support skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.

Compensation

Targeted hourly pay range: USD 60/hr to USD 90/hr.

Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The hourly pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
